Last year I set off on an adventure to Africa. I thought that I had it all figured out and that I knew exactly what I could expect. But this mysterious continent took me by surprise. Apart from its natural beauty, the continent boasts some great shopping locations. If you are a fashion enthusiast as I am, you should definitely pin these cities to your map.
The old Medina in the centre of Marrakech is a maze of shopping temptation. Made up of several souks that spill into one another, the alleyways and squares are fit to burst with carpets, silverware and shoes. Ngala Lodge is an 18 roomed boutique hotel perched on the craggy tangerine cliffs of the Gambia’s West Coast and every room has it’s own unique style. The humongous Atlantic Suites with sweeping views of the ocean come with hot tubs on the balcony and every room has a library’s worth of holiday reads waiting on the shelves. My room on the ground floor came with its own tranquil garden; a sun-lounger strategically placed to catch the rays.
